Combination Pellets: A topic of wild discussion these days. Plain and simple we at Cap N’ Stem use the Combination Pellets we sell to those who produce their own substrate. We have two options: 50:50 Organic Soyhull: Red Oak Dust and 30:70 Organic Wheat Middling:Red Oak Dust. Pellets are sold by the pallet in 1 ton super-sacks (2000lbs) or 50 35lb bags (1750lbs). The Facts: Combination pellets provide an amazingly simplistic pellet whose base ingredients are mixed thoroughly through multiple processes prior to ‘pelletization’. The combination of ingredients allows for the easy absorption of water when hydrating your substrate the Fenrir Bagging system or a standard ribbon mixer with a pneumatic bagging attachment (Hell ya we sell those fancy ass baggers!). After a decade of using raw red oak in large ribbon mixers, the combo-pellet has brought about an insane amount of stability and consistency to our substrate products, with a steady and stable moisture content of 7% and a compact way to store hundreds of tons of ready to hydrate substrate in our facility. Minus shipping costs (which can be wild right now) 1-9 pallets of substrate at a time are $500...get to a half truck load and the per pallet rate drops to $470 for 10+ pallets per order.
