SPAWN:
Our Certified Organic spawn is a combination of organic hard wheat and millet, kettle hydrated, batch mixed and sterilized in our state-of-the-art sub-atmospheric vacuum system, accurately preparing large batches of grain in a speed-cycle eliminating caramelization and maillard reactions, common in traditional gravity cycles making it extremely difficult for mushroom mycelium to colonize grain quickly and efficiently before being transferred to a suitable fruiting substrate. Our spawn will colonize your substrate faster for healthier mycelial growth and faster fruit body development. All of our phenotypes are cryogenically stored in deep freezers for the proper preservation of strain longevity and vigor. Each master bag is produced from a single plate of agar and each master bag inoculates a series of G2 spawn bags. We do not expand past G2 on grain in order to keep the strains running strong and fast for our substrate and yours.
READY-TO-FRUIT SUBSTRATE:
Our Certified Organic Ready-To-Fruit Substrates are a fresh blend of native New England oak sawdust, natural domestic agricultural bi-products such as wheat middlings, organic soybean hulls and whole grains. From sourcing, processing and mixing to bagging, sterilizing and inoculating, the whole substrate block production process is completed at our facility in Gardiner Maine. All of our substrate is incubated for the ideal amount of time in our hyper-controlled incubation rooms that balance temp, humidity and carbon dioxide levels for optimal mycelial growth. Fully colonized substrate blocks are packed and shipped in vented boxes under refrigerated conditions direct to your facility through our network of LTL and Truckload carriers.
